Commercial Motor Auctions has confirmed that the dispersal sale for vehicles and ephemera owned by the late Tony McGovern will take place on Saturday September 21st, commencing at 9.30am. The catalogue is available online at cva-auctions.co.uk. At the time of going to press the listing isn’t complete, but it’s being added to weekly leading up to the sale.

The highlights for us are, of course, the restored lorries which have become such a well-known sight at most of the big lorry events. All were restored to an excellent standard, and very well-presented by Tony and his team of enthusiastic helpers.

Also up for disposal are two vehicles that were not in McGovern’s house livery; namely Ford Thames Trader removals van 28 COG and Scania 111 GNS 379N which retains Glenfiddich livery. There are also numerous tractors, a number of restored carriages plus some useful parts including refurbished MAN F8 and Scania CR13 cabs. Last, but certainly not least, there are a few classic cars including a Ford Zodiac MkIII automatic, a Rover P5b coupe, a 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL and a 16,000-mile 1986 Ford Orion.

The sale is open to online and in-person bidding. The location is Berry Farm Cottage, Wexham Street, Stoke Poges, Slough SL3 6NB. The location will be sign-posted, and attendees are asked to take note of any ‘no auction access’ signs; these are there for good reason! For more details go to cva-auctions.co.uk.
