Russ Harvey reports from the excellent Spring Autojumble held at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, in Hampshire.

A splendid, liveried Bedford.

The National Motor Museum in the heart of the New Forest National Park, not far from Southampton and is the proven venue for the excellent Spring Autojumble on 14-15th May. Saturday’s weather was glorious sunshine, but sadly I chose to visit on the Sunday and it was wet with heavy showers, but by choosing your moments, in and out of the rain the autojumble was navigated. Just a gearbox cover and a book purchased. As always, I was on the hunt for commercials but they were a little thin on the ground, that said, I located a nice Austin Maestro van in the exhibitor’s car park along with a Bedford.

A Maestro van, spotted in the exhibitor’s car park.

There was a nice display by the Austin A30 & A35 Owners’ Club some nice A35 commercials were present including one of the ultra-A35 pick-ups. A very impressive display of the rare Lilac Morris Minor Millions as they were 60 during COVID, but Beaulieu was the chosen venue for Moggyfest, a packed display of Morris Minors brought together by the Dorset branch of the Morris Minor Owners’ Club. As expected, a number of Minor Commercials were located lurking in the rain, can’t wait for the International Autojumble in September. However, the star of the show for me was the Peugeot J7 factory built ‘School Bus’ very rare in this country, and could be purchased for Just under £9k.

All in all, a great day out which I thoroughly enjoyed, well done to all at Beaulieu for making it happen, just wish I visited on the Saturday!
