It’s great to see 1924 Aveling & Porter E-type 10-ton road roller No. 10906 Cinderella back in steam after its 10-year test. The engine underwent major boiler work 10 years ago now. This ex-Wilmslow Urban District Council roller was owned by the famous John Stevenson at one time. Now it’s with Tony Seddon and looked after by Andy Tatton, and the team is fitting a roof back on for the first time in preservation, and that certainly suits the engine. Interestingly, Tony has recently taken over the roles that the late Dave Smith undertook for the NTET.
