Regrettably, it’s been announced that the Heritage Transport Show, due to take place on April 1st at Detling, Kent, has been postponed.

This year’s Heritage Transport Show, which was due to take place at Detling, Kent, on April 1st, has been cancelled due to waterlogged ground.

After careful consideration, the organiser of the popular Heritage Transport Show – the Kent County Agricultural Society – has taken the sad decision to cancel the event, which was due to take place this Saturday and runs in partnership with the South East Bus Festival.

The heavy rain that’s fallen in the area over recent days – plus the prospect of more to come this weekend – has left the showground and the main car parks extremely wet and boggy, meaning that the whole area is currently in an unsuitable condition for the event to go ahead safely.

The Heritage Transport Show is a well-attended event so it’s obvious that this news will come as a big disappointment to visitors, exhibitors and traders alike. However, the organisers have pointed out that this is only a postponement, and that they’re currently looking for a date later this year on which to re-schedule the show. An announcement will be made as soon as a decision has been taken.

Plans are already afoot to set a new date for the event later in the year.

Ticket holders will receive an email confirming the situation but, in the meantime, any further questions can be directed to info@kentshowground.co.uk.
