Eastern Counties Vintage Show is on!
Posted by Chris Graham on 28th February 2020
Excellent news – the Eastern Counties Vintage Show has secured some last-minute sponsorship for 2020 and, as a direct result, is going ahead at the usual Royal Norfolk Showground venue over the weekend of March 21st-22nd.
Over the past few years, thanks to the sterling efforts of section organisers Gary and Julie Woodrow, the commercial vehicles section of this event has expanded significantly, and has developed to become one of the major gatherings in East Anglia, Nowadays, many enthusiasts in the area regard it as the regional season-opener.
However, with one of the event organisers reportedly in poor health, and difficulties securing the sponsorship backing needed to secure the site, a few rumours had begun to circulate suggesting that the this year’s wouldn’t be happening after all. Thankfully, that’s definitely not the case and the show will be going ahead as planned in March.
But, there’s more. This year’s Eastern Counties Vintage Show will include, for the first time, a vintage auction of tractors, commercials, parts and so on. This exciting addition to the proceedings will be taking place on the show’s first day (Saturday, March 21st) and will get under way at 10am. The organiers are delighted to announce that the auction will be run by well-known specialist auctioneers, HJ Pugh & Co.
Gary and Julie are dealing with commercial and military vehicle entries so, if you’re intwrrested in those sections, then call them on 07944 893021. For general show enquiries, and details about ‘other classes’ entries, you should call Mike Curtis on 07753 182065.
