High Weald Steam Working Weekend announcement

We report on the new venue that’s been announced for the very popular High Weald Steam Working Weekend, that’ll be taking place this June.
The big hit rally-wise in 2023 had to be the mid-June High Weald Steam Working Weekend at Danehill, in Sussex. But, in just two years this event had outgrown its original site and it was time to find a bigger one. The Ian Langley/Dave Mansi team has come up with Pippingford Park at Nutley (TN22 3HW), and the site was walked by the organisers in early January, and everyone was clearly impressed with what they saw.
Spokesman Bryn Kemp told Old Glory that the views across Ashdown Forest will provide a good backdrop for the show, with the organisers looking to arrange the site to maximise photo opportunities of the exhibits capturing the background. The show will offer the same working areas as in previous years, with wood sawing, threshing and road making demonstrations providing major attractions.
The heavy haulage section has its own segregated area. The site has room for expansion and there will be lots of opportunities to develop the show over the coming years. It sounds like this will be another excellent rally in 2024, and the date set for June 15th-16th.
Entry forms are now available on the website at highwealdsteam.co.uk and exhibits will only be accepted upon the return of a completed form together with an SAE. So do make a date in your diary for this exciting event which includes classes for miniatures, classic and vintage tractors, cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, stationary engines and more. Further news as it comes in.
