ERF trucks Open Day
Posted by Chris Graham on 17th January 2020
As this issue went to press, we were informed that JCB – who, of course, currently use a fleet of refurbished, classic ERFs for its inter-factory and demonstration machine transport needs – is planning a ‘one off’ ERF trucks Open Day at its worldwide headquarters in Rocester, Staffordshire.
The event is to take place on September 6th, 2020, and this will represent a rare opportunity for enthusiasts to ‘get up close’ to this well-known fleet of working ERFs
The organisers are also keen to invite other ERFs and their owners to come along and, while the event is free, visiting ERFs do need to book and obtain a ticket in advance. Numbers are restricted to 100 visiting trucks, and it’s ERFs only, first come, first served. Visitors without lorries can simply turn up on the day – no tickets are needed and admission is free. Onsite catering and toilet facilities are of course available, but as it’s ‘purely a show day’, there will be no sales stalls, though the onsite ‘JCB shop’ will probably be open. There will also be tours of the workshop where the lorries are maintained and, with that, the chance to see some rather unusual JCB memorabilia which is displayed therein.
More details about the ERF trucks Open Day will be released in the coming months but, in the meantime, further details (and ERF lorry attendance tickets) can be obtained by calling Dustine Poole on 07760 190418, or the JCB Garage on 01889 593344.
