Remembering the Nineties

While enthusiasts everywhere will have been thoroughly frustrated by the lack of classic vehicle rallies in 2020, due to the Covid-19 situation, all is not lost thanks to the publication of the latest addition to the excellent Vintage Roadscene Archive bookazine series, Remembering the Nineties, from Kelsey Publishing.
Remembering the Nineties is No.12 in the series, and it provides an album of colour photographs from the years 1989-1997. All were taken by well-known rally correspondent, David Reed, and, together with their informative and updated captions compiled by Mike Forbes, the images provide a superb record of that interesting decade.
As you can imagine, there’s a wide range of restored lorries featured in this new, 100-page, perfect-bound, A4-format publication. A number of these haven’t been seen out and about for a long time, or are now sporting other liveries. But readers will also find a few vehicles featured that are still recognisable and well-known from the classic vehicle rally scene today.
Winding the clock back 25 years or so, the photographs included were taken at different rallies and road runs around the country, and are bound to jog many a nostalgic memory! Hopefully, the new bookazine will also go some way towards making up for all the rallies and classic vehicle events that we’ve missed this year. But it should also serve-up an interesting comparison with the range of preserved lorries which can be seen at rallies nowadays.
