Nick’s Run Builds Up

Nick’s Run was organised to raise funds for Nick’s children in 2014, following a tragic farm accident. Nick left a partner and two children under five.
Local farmer and friend, Wayne Griffiths, together with other friends and family, organised the charity tractor run which saw 194 machines entered, supporting this worthy cause on a run along the highways and byways around Pencoed, in South Wales.
During the past five years, over £30,000 has been paid into the Nick’s Run trust fund, and the most recent two runs have also raised a further £6,000 for two other local charitable causes – Marie Curie and Multiple Sclerosis.
As for the future, Wayne says: “We have passed our wildest expectations for Nick’s children and, latterly, the two other charities. There are only so many weekends available when the weather is usually kind. So, I hope to use the weekend to run something in aid of a deserving cause.”
On a different note, he added: “Don’t forget the National Vintage Tractor Road Run. A few years ago, I approached the co-founder of the National, Ashley Godsall, to see if the run could come to South Wales. We met up and looked at a route. All was agreed and the run will be held in South Wales on Easter Sunday – April 12th – at Llanilid Farm, Pencoed, South Wales.”
