Peter Love reports from the recent Rodney Cowle tractor sale, which saw some excellent Ford tractors coming under the hammer.

The line-up of classic Fords at the Rodney Cowle sale was impressive. Many sold, but not all.

Combine dealer Rodney Cowle staged his second Cheffins classic collective sale at Winkleigh, in Devon, on May 28th. With lots consisting of a good number of later classics, a decent proportion found new homes at excellent prices.

This freshly-restored Ford 7810 Jubilee sold for £50,000 (+ VAT).

The major lots were made up of mostly Ford classics, with the highlights including a record-breaking and very original, 1980 County 1174 on which the hammer fell at £47,000 (+ VAT). Also making top money were a recently-restored Ford 7810 Jubilee, that sold for £50,000 (+ VAT) and a restored Ford 7000 with front weights and the right cab, which went for £24,500 (+ VAT).

Its new owner paid £24,500 for this stunning, restored Ford 7000 with correct cab.

Among the other sellers were a restored, 1974 Ford 7000 with the correct cab restored that sold for £24,500 (+ VAT), a 1989 Ford TW-35 II 4WD Super Q with 6,059 hours and PAVT wheels that made £25,500 (+ VAT) and a Ford 8730 2WD with Super Q can that found a new home for £28,000 (+ VAT).
